At my monthly off-site meeting (October) with local biz leaders, the following data was presented to us as a group (compiled by Management Association of Illinois): Only 12% of respondents claim they are operating ABOVE operating budgets and only 36% claim the are meeting plans....better than 50% are operating BELOW plans.
OUCH...
51% suspended hiring, 64% conducted layoffs, 58% didn't give raises...although they are optimistic about next six months.
This data coincides with the feedback I receive from our customers, prospects, vendors, our CPA firm, and my other trusted advisors. Regardless of what is coming out of the Whitehouse with respect to a "recovery" I am not quite seeing any evidence of one as of yet.
Hmm....What recovery?
